Women's Ministries

There are many groups within the Regina Apostolic Church ministering to the needs of women. The executive consists of the following members:

Apostolic Women's Missions (AWM)

AWM is a group of ladies who meet once a month in one of the member's homes. At these meetings, there is a short business meeting, a speaker who brings a devotional, a time of prayer and a time of refreshments. This is also a wonderful time of fellowship. All ladies of any age are welcome to attend. Some of the ministries carried out include the collecting and packing of groceries for needy families at Christmas. There are also groceries on hand for when there is a need throughout the year.

Some ministries that AWM support include: the Pregnancy couselling Centre, support a child through World Vision, New 2 You (held once a year to help needy families). In addition, AWM has helped a rural church update it's parsonage. They send money to missionaries. They help with the babysitting costs for the Young Mothers' Bible Study Group. They also make pies for camp (about 100/year!!!).

AWM is responsible for serving lunches at funerals, and hold an annual tea and bake sale at Storie Manor that everyone is invited to attend.
The December and January meetings are not held in homes. The December meeting is held at a cafe, as an extra outing to celebrate Christmas, with a special speaker. And the January meeting is an annual potluck that always turns out to be a lovely evening, lots of good food, fellowship, God's presence being felt with a special speaker once again.
The AWM group are open to any suggestions that you feel would make the group a greater blessing to others. They are a group of women who love the Lord and want to serve Him fully in all they do.

Craft 'n' Chat

Craft 'n' Chat is a monthly gathering of women of all walks of life, who come together for an evening out of the home or away from work. All women have the opportunity to meet other women, learn a new craft, and reflect on their spirituality, all in one evening. Craft 'n' Chat instructors provide leadership and direction for the monthly event. Approximately 160 women attend Craft 'n' Chat each month, along with a dedicated group of volunteers. There is a mid-evening break, with a segment called "Heart and Soul". At this break, refreshments are served and a guest speaker shares an inspirational and encouraging presentation with the women. The highlight of the evening is when each woman leaves for home, smiling and feeling good, with something they have crafted with their own hands.

  MotherWise

MotherWise is a ministry that provides support and training in Bible Study and Mothering Skills to young Moms. It was born out of the need for mothers to receive Emotional & Spiritual support. We hope to uplift each woman in her high calling to motherhood.

Disguised as a Bible Study, MotherWise is a refuge for mothers where they find refreshment, restoration and retooling as they seek biblical & practical answers to their mothering questions.

The MotherWise classes will begin here at the Ap __(TBA)__ and will run for 10 weeks each Friday from 9:30-11:00am. Childcare will be available.

Frieda Behnke provides leadership over this ministry and works with other experienced mothers to be mentors to young Moms that take these classes.
